Whole Grain Foods

Whole Grains are more nutrient rich compared to Refined Grains. It is a good idea to reduce the Refined Grains in your diet or even better if you can stay away from all Refined Grains. All Purpose Flour, White Rice, Maida, Semolina (Rava), Farina are all examples of refined grains.

Here are list of Whole Grain Foods which can be incorporated in your diet.

  1. Whole Wheat Bread

  3. Whole Wheat Rotis
  4. Whole Wheat Pita Breads
  5. Whole Grain Pancakes and Waffles
  6. Bulgar Wheat

  9. Whole Grain Granola Bars
  10. Cereal made from Whole grains
  11. Brown Rice Pulav
  12. Fried Brown Rice
  13. Quinoa Soup
  14. Quinoa Patties

American Breakfast

I have been intrigued by American Breakfast. For a long time, I thought American Breakfast meant Coffee, Cereals and Bread/Pastries. On a few occasions we dined out for Breakfast, I was surprised that a Full American Breakfast included many more items. Indeed, it would fill your tummy and you needn’t worry about having Lunch!

These are some of the Breakfast items which have aroused my interest. I tried most of these at Breakfast Buffets and began making a few of these at home.

  5. Eggs in a basket

  14. Fried Apple
  15. Bacon and Ham
  16. Sausage or Sausage Patties
  17. Corned Beef Hash
  18. Steak
  19. Country Fried Steak
  20. Pork Chops
  21. Toasted Bread with Butter & Jam
  22. French Toast
  23. Bagel and Cream Cheese
  24. English Muffin
  25. Cinnamon Roll
  26. Muffins
  27. Scones
  28. Banana Bread

Low Calorie Breakfast

If you are on a diet or want to reduce your Daily Calorie Intake, do not skip your breakfast. Breakfast energizes your body and gets your started for the day. Instead of loading yourself with a 700 calorie carbohydrate and fat filled breakfast, regulate your portions and enjoy a lower calorie breakfast.   7. Chicken and Vegetable Whole Wheat Wraps
  8. Tuna Sandwich
  9. Fruit Salad
  10. Vegetarian Burgers
  11. Breakfast Tacos with Scrambled Egg or Chicken
  12. Whole Grain French Toast
